Hey friends!
Wow, February really went off! I've just started a new role as Product Manager at Trass Games, working on physical plushies for their hit VR game Yeeps! My role is all about bringing digital experiences into the physical world, so it really hits at that crossover between physical and digital that Iāve been building my entire life which has fascinated me since adolescence.
My business, Angl, continues to grow! And, no Iām not stopping now that I have a tech job! Angl was designed to flexible, and itās come this far growing through the cracks of my schedule. I finally finished filming and editing the product video. This is a crucial part of getting the magic of the product across when Iām not there in person to bring the energy. The video is now live on our Faire page too!
I'm making progress with offshore manufacturers that Iāve found on Alibaba for scaling production. I've been learning so much: technical drawings, packaging requirements, international compliance standardsāstuff I never imagined would be part of my entrepreneurial journey but itās these weird niche skills that move projects forward I swear. Not to mention they got me the job I have now :D
For those who haven't seen them yet, Angl pop-up frames are picture frame greeting cards that let you share memories as gifts. Oh! and I just wrapped a polaroid photo-booth and love letters collab with Sour Cherry Comics. Watching angl, this little idea, grow into an actual brand with collaborations still feels surreal. It also got me noticed by the person who hired me at Trass! So much gratitude!
I feel like Iāve made it to a point that Iāve been working toward my entire life. Surrounded by community whoāve been incredibly generous in helping get this far. Rather than blowing past this milestone, Iām really challenging myself to be present and appreciate what Iāve achieved.
On the personal front, I've reconnected with rock climbing! Iāve proven to myself through feeding months of daily log journals into a Claude Project (which Iām excited to share more about in the future) that exercise is a magic reset button for me. If Iām ever cranky, angry, etc, I just have to find a way to move my body! Even when I'm convinced I'm too tired to climb, I always leave the gym feeling energized.
I also feel like Iāve finally cracked meal preppingācurrent favorite recipes include this One Pot Smokey Fish with Tomatoes and Pearl Couscous that I found on NYT cooking even though it doesnāt keep super long itās just beyond delicious. This dal is incredible and keeps great, easy to freeze! And next time youāre out of ideas, consider how many million ways there are to cook chicken. Currently devouring this vinegar chicken with crushed olive dressing.
Weekends have been for recharging with hikes through the redwoods with my partner, and doggo. If you donāt know this hidden gem tucked behind the Oakland hills, itās an incredible place to get lost over the weekendā¦but like donāt actually get lost pls š¬š. Being out in nature also cleanses energy I find.
So that's me latelyābalancing angl, new job, trying to find time to get this newsletter/blog back up and running. Spent a lot of time honing a Claude Project to be my AI journal/assistent, and trying to take care of myself along the way. I'd love to hear what you've been up to! Hit reply and let me know, or let's grab coffee if you're in the Bay Area.
More updates soon hopefully!!
Until next time, Koii š
